Donald Lee, Jr.

Clarinet/Assistant

Donald R. Lee, Jr. is a native of Darlington, South Carolina. He served as principal Clarinet in the Mayo High School Band program under the direction of Keith DaBreu. Donald received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina; a Master’s of Education from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina, and has nearly completed studies toward the Doctor of Education degree from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Lee’s performance background on the Clarinet includes Principal Clarinet for four years with the Famed South Carolina State University Marching ‘101’ band, and Principal Clarinet for two years with the South Carolina State University Symphonic Band and

Wind Ensemble.

Donald trained as an arranger under Professor Ronald J. Sarjeant former Director of Bands, South Carolina State University, one of the country's most renowned music arrangers. Mr. Lee began arranging music for band during his sophomore in high school at Mayo. He has become an accomplished music arranger and is currently working on original compositions for band and Clarinet Choir.

Currently serving as Assistant Director of Bands at South Carolina State University

Mr. Lee is an Assistant Arranger for the Famed Marching ‘101’ band, Assistant Drill Instructor and Designer for the Marching ‘101’, Assistant Director of the Pep Band, Conductor of the Clarinet Choir, and Assistant Conductor and performer for Concert and Symphonic Bands. Mr. Lee resides in Orangeburg, South Carolina with his wife Josalyn, and their three children, Jasmine, Donald, III, and Jordan.
